Gaza parents demands Israel release prisoners

The mothers and relatives of Palestinians held illegally in Israeli prisons held yet another demonstration in front of the Red Cross headquarters in Gaza on Monday calling for the release of their loved ones.

Detainees from Gaza represent a minority (an estimated 1,000 out of 11,000) of the Palestinians held by Israel. Since June of 2007 Israel has also denied prisoners’ families the right to visit their relatives as mandated under the Geneva Conventions. Full story
