Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Israel army kills alleged infiltrator

Ma'an - Israeli forces shot dead one person early Wednesday along Egypt's Sinai border area, an Israeli official said.

The security official said Israel's army fired on a group of several men who had entered Israel near the southern city of Eilat.

Israeli soldiers at the scene of the deadly shooting found a suspicious bag that was being examined, the security official said.

According to the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the military had not issued a formal announcement, the operation was conducted in coordination with Egyptian security forces.

Reports conflicted on the number of alleged infiltrators seen crossing into Israel.
