By the end of 2008, at least 71 percent (7.6 million) of the entire, worldwide Palestinian population (10.6 million) were forcibly displaced persons. Among them were at least 7.1 million Palestinian refugees and 455,000 internally displaced persons. Only 28.7 percent of the entire Palestinian population worldwide have never been displaced.
