Danish woman beaten by Israeli soldier

Safa farmers have been working the land all their lives

Israeli authorities declared Safa village north of Hebron a closed military zone and arrested two international peace activists, injuring a third Danish activist during protests Saturday.

Dozens of villagers and activists were attempting to reach Wad Abu A-Rish, an area near Safa that is the site of an attempted land takeover by Israeli settlers in the West Bank. Soldiers barred the group from accessing the area, arrested a Danish and German activist and injured a second Danish woman by hitting her in the head with a rifle butt.
