Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Settlers' upcoming takeover

IMEMC
Fundamental extremist Israeli settlers say that they are ‘tired of waiting’ and decided to make their move which aims at occupying a plot of land northeast of Jerusalem to build their settlement.

Hillel Fendel, the senior editor and co-founder of Arutz Sheva's "Israel National News” writes that the settlers ‘are tired of waiting for an official permission’, and that they have decided to take a unilateral action that will upset the U.S. administration.

The land in question is in Samir-Amis Arab Palestinian neighborhood, the settlers have their eyes on it as it overlooks the Atarot airport and most parts of Jerusalem.

Fendel writes that some 20 settler families have decided not to wait for the Israeli Authorities to evacuate what he described as “Arab squatters”, and decided to move into ‘unoccupied parts’ of the land in the coming weeks...

The settlers in Israel are feeling empowered by a right-wing, fundamental extremist government, filled with fundamental settlers who became ministers and lawmakers [such as] Avigdor Lieberman, head of the Yisrael Beiteinu fundamental party, the former member of the terrorist Kach movement who became the Foreign Minister of Israel.

Lieberman, a colonizer himself, is a strong advocate for settlements in occupied Palestine, and repeatedly labeled the Arabs in Israel as a demographic threat. He also repeatedly called for expelling the Arabs and Palestinians...

In some of their protests, the settlers and their leaders said that “Saddam Hussein Obama” is advocating for expelling the Jews from their homeland... they chanted ‘Shame on You Obama”... “Obama and those who are trying to hurt Israel will be punished if they manage to do so”.

The settlers recently installed several illegal outposts in the West Bank, some were removed, some remained and some continue to expand.

The Israeli government, led by settlers and fundamentalists, is different than previous Israeli government in one way; it is openly advocating and boosting the construction of settlements in Palestine...

... settlements are illegal, violate the International Law and the Fourth Geneva Convention as they clearly state that an occupying power cannot move all or part of its population into areas its occupies. Full story
