Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Israeli forces detain 2 foreigners at Bethlehem protest, injure 15

Ma'an - Two foreign nationals were detained Friday in the central West Bank at a protest against Israel's wall, activists said.

Dozens of foreigners participated in the demonstration in Al-Mas'ara, a village near Bethlehem, organizers said. Israeli forces clashed with the demonstrators and dispersed the demonstration.

Salah Al-Khawaja, a member in the Nil'in popular committee against the wall, says the struggle is widening in the West Bank.

The two foreign nationals were seized and 15 others injured in Wadi Rahhal, a village near the city.

Shadi Fawaghreh, the coordinator of the popular committee in Wadi Rahhal, said the protest called for national unity and the continuation of the popular resistance until Palestinians achieve their independence.
