Palestinian student fights to attend school in US

The Daily Evergreen- Amanda Craven - A recently accepted WSU graduate student from Gaza is fighting back after he was denied permission to travel internationally for study at WSU.

...Critics of Israel’s tactics have called the blockade a “collective punishment” because of its undesired effect on the people of Gaza, according to Amnesty International.

...“This is my last chance to come to (WSU) in the spring,” Basheer said. “(Representatives) of Washington are the only people who can help me (by) calling the embassy. I am ready to start studying.” Read more
