UN report: Israeli war cost Gaza 4 billion USD

A UN report published on Tuesday said poverty in the Gaza Strip has deteriorated to levels unseen since Israel occupied the territory in 1967.

According to the website of the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, the UN trade and development agency says 90% of Gaza's residents are currently beneath the poverty line and rates the damages caused by the Israel’s three-week military offensive last winter at 4 billion US dollars, a sum it says is three times larger than the Strip's annual market performance.
