Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Israel seals off all Gaza crossings

Israeli forces decided on to close all goods crossing points into the Gaza Strip on Friday, a Palestinian official said.

Egyptian and Israeli authorities maintain a tight grip on the flow of humanitarian aid into the Strip, in addition to limiting the movement of Palestinians. The two transit border crossings into Egypt and Israel, Rafah and Erez respectively, allow Palestinians to travel solely with permits. In the case of the Rafah crossing, many Palestinian students and patients with the required permits have been stranded on either side of Egypt and Gaza, as Egyptian authorities only sporadically allow them to travel.

.........According to the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the occupied territory the weekly average of imports between 25 November and 8 December remained significantly below the needs of the population of Gaza. Full story
