Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Prisoners' families' convoy held up in West Bank

Armed Israeli settlers held up a convoy of busses carrying Palestinians returning from visiting their relatives in Israeli prisons on Thursday, passengers said.

......The International Committee of the Red Cross organizes busses for Palestinians to visit their jailed relatives. [There are currently at least 7,390 Palestinians in Israeli prisons, of which 32 are women and 340 are children, taken forcefully by invading Israeli soldiers.]

The incident took place the same day as the fatal shooting of an Israeli settler near the nearby [illegal] settlement of Save Shomron.

..........The shooting was later claimed by the Imad Mughniya group, a splinter group swearing allegiance to Fatah’s Al-Aqsa Brigades.

Following the attack, Palestinians said Israeli settlers rampaged through Palestinian villages in the Nablus area, firing weapons and attempting to set fire to houses... Full story
