Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

In-depth report by world's expert on organ trafficking: "Body Parts, Bio-Piracy and the Spoils of War at Israel’s National Forensic Institute" - also discusses Rachel Corrie's 'irregular autopsy'

In its latest print edition, CounterPunch carries an explosive article on the details of Israel's harvesting of internal organs. The article is by the world's foremost authority on organ trafficking, UC Berkeley Professor of Anthropology Nancy Scheper-Hughes.

In her in-depth report Scheper-Hughes describes the tissue, skin, bone and organ harvesting conducted at Israel’s national morgue outside Tel Aviv, the National Forensic Institute.

She also raises disturbing questions about Rachel Corrie’s irregular autopsy and quotes from her video-taped interview with Dr. Yehuda Hiss, Israel's chief pathologist.

Previous articles on the topic by Swedish journalist Donald Bostrom and If Americans Knew Executive Director (now also CNI President) Alison Weir were greeted by alarm by Israel partisans, who denied Israeli involvement in organ harvesting.

This new report by Scheper-Hughes (who was quoted in Weir's articles), sheds new light on the topic and refutes a number of official Israeli statements. The article is available to download by CounterPunch subscribers.
