Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

"I thought I am going to die" - 19-year-old describes attack by Israeli settlers

PNN – “I thought I am going to die” this is how 19 year old Ala Sharawnah from Jerusalem recalls Monday night after surviving an attack by Israeli settlers.

“ I was going back home after I finished work, a group of 20 Jewish settlers surrounded me and attacked me. My heart was beating fast and I could not breath, I thought I am going to die. I blacked-out and woke up in the hospital.” Ala explains what happened to him.

The young man was walking from his work in Mahaneh Yahuda street in west Jerusalem to Silwan neighborhood near Jerusalem’s old city.

Ala was rushed to HADASA hospital in West Jerusalem. “ I got to the hospital and I called the Israeli police, they arrived and questioned the nurse on duty when she asked officers why they do not question my son they said another officer is coming soon to do that, of course they did not show up.” Ala’s father told PNN.

The family is planning to file a complaint to the Israeli police even though they are sure the attackers will not be caught. “Last year they killed Husam Rowidie from Silwan in East Jerusalem and the attackers were not cought.

Palestinian residents in Jerusalem are reporting more attacks by Israeli settlers and radical groups but they say the Israeli police only show up when settlers clashes with local residents.
