Ma'an – The body of a Palestinian man who died in Israeli custody on Thursday has not yet been released to his family, and remains in an Israeli forensics facility near Tel Aviv, the man's family reported.
The 26-year-old Raed Abu Hammad from the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Al-Eizariya was announced dead following time in an isolation cell, despite earlier complaints of illness.
Abu Hammad's body was transported to the Abu Kabir forensics facility in Israel for what his parents were told would be continued investigations into the cause for their son's death.
When the autopsy is concluded, Abu Hammad's body will return to his family for burial.
