Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Dozens Suffered from Gas Inhalation During Anti-wall Protest In Ni'lin

IMEMC
Dozens of residents from Ni'lin village near Ramallah in the northern West Bank took to the streets to protest the construction of the wall on their land.
This weekly nonviolent protest started by holding the Friday noon prayer on the lands close to the wall. As protesters marched towards the wall, Israeli troops showered them with tear gas and rubber coated steel bullets.

Some youth responded by throwing rocks at the soldiers. A number of protestors chocked as they inhaled the tear gas and were treated by field medics. The protesters demanded the release of all prisoners from Israeli jails.

The residents of Ni'lin have been defying an Israel ban to demonstrate for the fourth week in a row. A month ago, Israeli authorities declared the village a closed military zone to prevent international and Israeli supporters to come to the village.
