Teenager attacked by settlers in Sheikh Jarrah

Palestinian teenager was attacked by settlers on Saturday evening in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem.

Amina Nashashibi, 16, was pulled by the hair and beaten whilst attending a demonstration in the area, Ma'an's reporter said. ....The reporter said Israeli police were present at the scene.

On Thursday evening Israeli police blocked the road leading to the Al-Kurd family home, which was taken over in part by settlers.

In early August, Israeli police forced more than 50 members of two Palestinian families, from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah and allowed Israeli settlers to move in. The evictions of the families went forward despite near-universal condemnation from the international community, including Israel’s closest ally, the US.

On Friday, a group of Israelis rallied at Ben Yehuda street in Jerusalem to protest Israeli policies encouraging the eviction of Palestinians from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah.   Full story
