Jericho police spokesman Raed Abu Gharbeiyah said the crossing is open to travelers entering the West Bank but closed to those trying to leave.
He added that those passengers waiting tonight in Jericho would be the first to cross to Jordan on Monday.
Travelers said the crossing is overcrowded as a large number of buses have been held up by Israeli authorities for several hours.
Israeli authorities frequently close the bridge, often for unknown reasons.
This is the high season for travel to Jordan, and Jericho police have reported a particularly high volume of travelers this month.
