Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Israeli forces injure journalist, marchers protesting confiscation of Palestinian land near Bethlehem

Ma'an – Several injuries were reported on Sunday as Israeli forces dispersed a march protesting settlement expansion and the wall's construction in Beit Jala, a town in the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem.

Imad Abu Nassar, the coordinator of the national committee against the wall, said confrontations were based near the Cremisan area and the injured were transferred to hospital for treatment.

Witnesses said Al-Quds newspaper photographer Mahmoud Elayyan sustained a head injury after being hit by a tear-gas canister, while two participants sustained rubber bullet wounds. Four others suffered tear-gas inhalation.

Mazen Al-Azzeh, the popular campaign coordinator in Bethlehem, said "resistance will continue with all the pressure Israel is putting. He added that forces deliberately fired tear-gas canisters toward residents' homes.

An Israeli military spokeswoman could not confirm Elayyan's injuries and said no rubber-coated bullets were used by Israeli forces.

The military is unaware of any tear gas fired toward a person's home, she added.
