Ma'an – Israeli forces deployed riot dispersal means against Palestinians gathered near a settlement Saturday afternoon in the Hebron district, after the rally was attacked by Israeli settlers, officials said.
Palestine Solidarity Project spokesman Muhammad Ayad Awad said participants, waving Palestinian and Turkish flags, and journalists were accosted by Israeli settlers near the Karmi Tsur settlement during a demonstration there.
Israeli forces fired tear-gas canisters and stun grenades at the rally, Awad said. Photojournalist Najeh Al-Hashlamon was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, he added.
An Israeli military spokeswoman did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
