Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Israel detains 13-year-old girl during visit to her imprisoned father

IMEMC – A 13 year old Palestinian girl has been detained during a visit to her father in a Israeli prison in the Negev Israeli detention camp.

The girl, Samah Majdi Musallam, was visiting her father who is serving a 13 year statement.

Israeli guards at the prison accused her of trying to pass contraband to her father. The girl will be tried at a court in Beersheba in Southern Israel.

The PA Minister for Detainees, discussing the incident, has said that often family visits to Palestinian prisoners become opportunities for punishment and humiliation practices by Israeli soldiers and prison guards. [IAK has received reports about Israeli soldiers grotesquely abusing female visitors.]
