Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Israel strikes underground tunnel in Gaza

IMEMC- The Israeli air force attacked an underground tunnel running from the Gaza strip into Israel. According to military officials the strike was in response from a rocket fired from the Gaza strip into the Nagev. Neither incident caused death or injury.

An Israeli helicopter attacked an underground tunnel leading from the Gaza strip into Israel on Wednesday morning apparently in response to a mortar attack fired from Gaza into the Nagev on Tuesday night.

The incident was the first since March when Hamas fired a rocket at an Israeli school bus killing one. I9sraeli responded with air and ground strikes that killed 19 Palestinians.

In a statement the Israeli military said that the tunnel was used to transport terror suspects from Gaza into Israel.

Since Israel imposed its siege on Gaza in 2006 secret tunnels running from Gaza into Egypt and Israel have become necessary for transporting essential supplies into Gaza including medicine, food and construction material.
