Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Israeli forces shoot, injure man near Palestinian town of Qalqiliya

Ma'an -- Israeli forces shot and injured a young man near a military base east of Qalqiliya on Sunday afternoon, accusing the man of running at soldiers with a knife.

Eyewitnesses said the man was shot and detained by soldiers.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said the man, identified by Palestinian officials as 22-year-old Mahdi Abdul-Lateef Muhammad Amir, ran towards the DCO, District Coordination Office, holding a knife.

"He was yelling 'Allahu Akbar' [God is Great]," she said.

According to the spokeswoman warning shots were fired, then shots to the lower legs, as Amir breached the cordon around the military base.

She said he was evacuated to a hospital in Israel.
