Israeli army fears rallies at border will emulate weekly demonstrations

Wafa– Israeli military sources said the army is worried the rallies on the borders with Syria will become weekly demonstrations, like those in Nilin and Bilin in the West Bank.

A senior Israeli officer in the north told Yediot Ahranot that there is a difference between the Syrian border areas and Nilin, because international law allows the use of gas bombs to a very limited extent and prohibits their use outside the border. Read more
