Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Palestinian resistance fighters fire on Israeli military invading Gaza, bulldozing Palestinian farm land

Ma'an – Islamic Jihad's military wing said Monday it had fired on Israeli military vehicles near the eastern Gaza City neighborhood Ash-Shuja'iyeh overnight, whom it said were bulldozing Palestinian farm land.

The Al-Quds brigades said in a statement that they launched three mortar shells at vehicles in the east of the district which abuts Israel's border fence, adding that it was in "response to the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people in Gaza."

An Israeli military spokeswoman said "this is just rumors ... its not true."

A mortar shell was fired overnight from Gaza into Israel, with no casualties, she said.

On Saturday, Hamas security forces in the Gaza Strip detained two members of another Islamist group, Tawhid wal Jihad, who are suspected of firing rockets at Israel.

The past month has seen an increase in rocket fire into Israel from Gaza, with the Israeli military saying at least 23 projectiles have been fired into Israel from the territory since July 1.
