Palestinian swimmers set records in Shanghai

Ma'an -- Palestinian swimming competitors returned home Monday after breaking national records in the World Aquatic Championships in Shanghai.

Ahmad Jibril clocked the 400-meter freestyle at 4:18 and the 200-meter freestyle in 2:02. Majd At-Tawil competed in the 50-meter freestyle, scoring a time of 26.65 seconds.

Sabine Hazboun participated in the female 50-meter freestyle and came 56th place out of 95 competitors in 29.16 seconds. She also swam the 50-meter butterfly in 31.12 seconds.

These scores represent new records for Palestine, where there are limited training facilities.
