Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

EU official: UN should recognize Palestinian state

Ma'an
"After a fixed deadline, a UN Security Council resolution should proclaim the adoption of the two-state solution," Solana said on Sunday, adding the declaration should include the borders of the Palestinian state, the fate of Palestinian refugees, control over Jerusalem and security arrangements, according to Reuters.

"It would accept the Palestinian state as a full member of the UN, and set a calendar for implementation. It would mandate the resolution of other remaining territorial disputes and legitimize the end of claims," Solana also said, according to the news agency.

Calling for a return to Israel's borders before the 1967 war in which it occupied the West Bank, Gaza, and other territory, Solana said mediators should set a timetable for a final peace agreement. "If the parties are not able to stick to it, then a solution backed by the international community should be put on the table," he said, as quoted by Reuters.
