Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Settlers attack Palestinian lawmaker from car on bypass road

Ma'an
Israeli settlers pelted stones at the car of Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) member Walid Assaf as he drove north to Qalqiliya Tuesday afternoon.

The group of settlers, armed with rocks, were in a car travelling on the Nablus bypass road as they sped to catch up to Assaf’s vehicle. As they neared stones were hurled out of the moving vehicle, breaking the windshield of Assaf’s car.

...Assaf said he then went directly to an Israeli military checkpoint to lodge a complaint against the violent actions of the settlers, but was told he had to submit his complaint in writing to the Civil Administration. The soldiers said they were unable to take measures against the unknown settlers.

“Israel will take no penal measures against settlers because they usually attack Palestinians under army protection,” Assaf said. “If it was Palestinians who threw stones at an Israeli car, Israeli forces would have imposed curfew on all nearby villages,” he added.
