Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. This is a joint project of the Council for the National Interest and If Americans Knew, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization directed by Americans without ethnic ties to the Middle East dedicated to providing information to the American public. Ideally we would do this every day; scant resources decree that we update it a few times a week.
Commentary, Analysis, U.S. news related to the Issue
Most American news media rely on the Associated Press as their primary (and sometimes only) source of international news. Sadly, its reporting is consistently Israeli-centric and fails to adhere to normal standards of journalism. Therefore, we are providing occasional analyses of its reports discussing what it included and omitted, its word choices, etc.
