Ma'an - Despite threats from Israel's navy, an Irish boat packed with humanitarian aid is reportedly proceeding toward Gaza.
The crew of the MV Rachel Corrie, which delayed voyage due to technical problems ahead of its participation in a seven-member flotilla that came under deadly Israeli fire late Sunday, has decided to proceed, a member of the Belfast Palestine Solidarity Committee said.
Niamh Moloughney of the Free Gaza Movement stated that the ship was two days away, according to a brief statement posted on the personal website of Ali Abunimah, a Palestinian-American writer who cofounded the Electronic Intifada website.
"We have 2 days to turn this outrage into a victory & get the Rachel Corrie into Gaza with the support of the world and open this sea route," Moloughney was quoted as saying. She said the voyage is a Malaysian and Irish partnership, and that it has Malaysia's full support.... Full story
