Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Two Palestinian children honored for returning lost cash

Ma'an - A ten-year-old boy will be honored and a second will receive accolades during the week after handing in cash they found on the streets of the Tubas and Salfit districts, police said.

The first, Iyad Ahmad Abu Shabak, was honored in a ceremony by head of the Salfit police department Ala Ash-Shalabi, who called the boy's actions a credit to society and proof of the efficacy of recent law-and-order campaigns.

Iyad found a walled of cash and documents in the village of Farkha, and brought them to the area police station immediately after he found them, police said.

The boy's actions "strengthened the culture of security, keeping order to serve all and to protect their rights and properties," Ash-Shalabi said in a ceremony honoring the child.

One district over, in the Tubas governorate, 10-year-old Abed Al-Ilah Methqal found a wallet containing NIS 9,750 ($2,500) on the street last week, police said.

After finding the wallet, Abed walked until he found a police patrol car and handed the cash and wallet over to officers.
Police said a report on the lost cash had already been filed, so officers with the station were able to quickly return the lost money to its owner.

"Abed will be honored just as the Salfit boy was," a report from the district police office said.
