The Israeli Prisoner Administration illegally extended the remand of a paralyzed Palestinian detainee for additional six month after he was imprisoned for 18 months.
Detainee Lu’ay Sati Al Ashqar, 32, from Saida near the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem, is believed to be one of the leaders of the Islamic Jihad.
He was kidnapped in 2008 and was sentenced for one year imprisonment, but when he finished his term he was moved to administrative detention for six months, one Sunday a military court extended his remand for additional six months without pressing any charges.
Al Ashqar was kidnapped the first time in 2003, and was imprisoned for one year. He was kidnapped again in 2005 and became paralyzed after the interrogators broke his back while torturing him... Full story
