Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Congressional trips to Israel

The American Israel Education Foundation sponsored 400 Congressional trips to Israel, at a cost of over $3 million since 2000.

Republicans approved 199 of them.
Democrats approved 202 of them.

Most trips cost about $5500. Some, however, were considerably costlier.

For example, Sen. John Barasso (R-WY) spent $25,433.08.

Rep. Mike Ferguson (R-NJ) spent $27,923.32

Rep. Jerry Moran (R-KS) spent $28,121.50

Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) spent $24,010.50
