Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Luay Akka, one of the lawyers of the PPS, stated that Shadi Shalalda, representative of the detainees in Ofer, said that the prison administration moved on Sunday at night 25 detainees to the prison clinic, which lacks the basic equipment.

...The ailing detainees could not walk without help from other detainees.

He also stated that the Prison Administration had declared a state of emergency in the prison, and that on Monday morning; the prison director visited the facility along with a physician who decided to isolate 4 detainees due to the severity of their condition. The prison administration refused to comment on the situation, and only said that it declared a state of emergency, and that no further information would be granted before lab work is concluded.

Shalalda appealed human rights groups and medical teams, to intervene as the detainees, and their jailors, are panicking while the administration is not revealing detailed information on the situation. Full story
