Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Settlers erect new outpost as soldiers stand by

Ma'an
Dozens of Israeli settlers erected a new outpost near the village of Yanun, south of the West Bank city of Nablus...

Setters from the nearby parent settlement of Itimar arrived on the hilltop in SUVs and trucks, and erected at least six tents on Palestinian land...

Last Friday at least 30 settlers set up a new outpost they called “Mitzpe Ami” near the West Bank settlement of Qedumin, southwest of Tulkarem, shortly before sundown Friday evening. Soldiers were sent to demolish the outpost but were recalled and told to wait until the end of the Jewish Sabbath.

Locals fear that if Israeli forces do not act soon, a similar hold on the evacuation of the aggressive right-wing settlers would be put in place, and that they would have time to bring more settlers and entrench themselves on the stolen land.

Head of the Yanun village council Rashed Murar said over the phone that there were several clusters of tents erected by settlers all over the western-area of the village, and that soldiers patrolling the area did not act to stop them. Full story
