Israeli forces detain five overnight in Ramallah

Maan News Agency - Palestinian police said five were detained by the Israeli military overnight from the Ramallah area, including a father and three of his sons in the central West Bank village of Shabitin.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said she was unaware of arrests in either Shabitin or An-Nabi Salih, where police said 22-year-old Ahmad Sameh Al-Khatib was taken from his home.

The spokeswoman said soldiers detained one man from the Qalqiliya area overnight.

Those said to have been taken from Shabitin were identified as Helmi Abed Al-Hafith Thib and his sons Ammar, Mohammad and A’yed.

The detentions were said to have occurred following a home invasion.
