Wife says prisoner in solitary for over a year

Maan News Agency - The detainees center reported Wednesday that a Palestinian prisoner at Ramla jail was placed in extended isolation.

Ahed Abu Ghilmeh was scheduled to end his stint in solitary confinement on March 2 but the jail renewed his punishment, the center said.

The prisoner's wife said the treatment was "killing her husband" because it is "so inhumane."

He has been kept in isolation since January 2010 and banned from receiving visitors, she said.
