Dr. Mustafa Barghouti says Israel escalating Gaza violence to thwart reconciliation efforts and is using Goldstone's "retreat" for new assault

Ma'an – Palestinian MP Dr. Mustafa Barghouti said Thursday that Israel was attempting to escalate violence in Gaza to thwart efforts toward reconciliation and to destroy infrastructure in Gaza.

After Israeli forces killed five Palestinians in Gaza [and injured 40], he condemned "the occupation's crime, which left many dead and wounded including children and women, journalists and medics."

Barghouti added that Israel was using jurist Richard Goldstone's "humiliating retreat" from what he wrote in the report of UN Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict to prepare the ground for a new war.
