Detained Bil'in [nonviolence movement] activist sent into isolation [for talking to journalists covering his hearing at Israeli military tribunal]

Ma'an – A popular anti-wall committee official from Bil'in was reportedly sent into solitary confinement for talking to journalists covering his hearing at an Israeli military tribunal on Friday, members said.

Popular committee officials said Abdullah Abu Rahma, detained for the last five months, was placed in an isolation cell under punitive measures by the Israeli Prison Service and has been barred from family visits.

Abu Rahma's lawyer was successful in allowing the IPS to grant the detainee visits from his children, but officials said these would now end because of the move.

Over his five-month detention Abu Rahma has appeared before an Israeli military tribunal over 20 times but has yet to be sentenced...    Full story
