Ma'an – Ten families in the Hebron-area village of Bani Na'im were served with stop work orders on Monday, and ordered to appear before a magistrate as early as 3 June to defend their homes from demolition.
The Bani Na’im municipality issued a statement Monday afternoon accusing Israel of failing to support the spirit of indirect talks and continuing their program of home demolitions and persecution of Palestinians.
The orders presented to the families said they must appear in an Israeli court on either 3 June or 3 September and make a case against the demolition of their homes and agricultural buildings......
.....The orders add to a growing list, with the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs counting five orders delivered last week, against buildings as diverse as a health center near Nablus, a school near Jenin and three storage structures near Hebron. According to the report from the UN body, since the beginning of 2010, Israeli authorities have demolished a total of 65 Palestinian-owned structures in Area C, displacing 125 people, including 47 children.
