Report: 65 Hebronites detained in April

Ma'an – Israel's army detained 65 men and women during its army's night raids and detention campaigns targeting the Hebron governorate during the month of April...

The monthly report cataloged the detentions of men, women, children, the ill and disabled, as well as the destruction of private property and home demolitions. Prisoners society researchers noted the increased use of sniffer dogs during home raids that ended in detentions. The dogs, the report said, terrified children.

Three men suffering from illnesses that require periodic hospitalization were detained during the month...

A 22-year-old disabled man, Khalil Khaled Idris, and a psychiatric patient, Jamil Zakarieyah Salayiemah, were taken from their homes, the society recorded.

Women arrested during April were identified as Maysoon Mohammad As-Suweiti, a 30 year old mother of four, married to Mahmoud As-Suweiti, also currently in Israeli detention...

Forty-eight-year-old Halima Abed Rabu Shawamreh was also detained in April, forces told her she was being taken in an effort to pressure her son, wanted by Israeli officials, to turn himself in. She was released two days after being detained, her son Nader Kamel Ssh-Shawamreh remains free.
