Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Report: Israeli soldiers shoot Bedouin`s camel

Ma'an – Israeli soldiers shot the camel of Bedouin farmers dead on Friday night, Palestinian officials said, following an altercation with the owners.

Israeli media said the three soldiers involved in the incident left their Jericho-area military base without permission, and admitted to killing the animal after the owners filed a complaint with the local Civil Administration office.

According to reports, the military will launch a probe into the events surrounding the death of the camel, and threatened to punish the officers.

Following Israel's Operation Cast Lead, which the UN-mandated Goldstone report found grounds for investigations of war crimes and crimes against humanity, and saw the death of more than 1,400 Palestinians, three Israeli military personnel were reprimanded.

The preceding year, an officer who was filmed shooting a bound and gagged teenager during an anti-wall protest at close range with a rubber-coated bullet was demoted and moved to a new unit. His commanding officer, who he said ordered the shooting and can be seen on the tape, was not investigated.
