Clashes Continue in East Jerusalem Neighborhood

IMEMC - Sporadic clashes erupted between Israeli forces and Palestinian residents of Silwan, East Jerusalem yesterday.

Israeli troops targeted Palestinian homes in Bir Ayyub and Baten al-Hawa, throwing tear gas canisters inside them. Israeli troops were also stationed in the Ein Silwan area on the outskirts of Wadi Hilweh.

A large number of residents, including many children and several pregnant women have suffered the ill effects of tear gas inhalation. In some cases, some of the pregnant women residents have lost their unborn babies due to the toxic fumes.

A vast number of tear gas canisters have also been fired directly inside Palestinian homes, sparking fires in two homes in Baten al-Hawa
