Al-Quds Center issues first report on Israeli violations in East Jerusalem

esearch and documentation department at the Al-Quds Center for Social and Economic Rights released a report on Saturday detailing the daily Israeli violations of the rights of the Palestinian in Jerusalem.

The thirty page report, in Arabic, details the rights violations behind Israeli home demolitions, the violation of holy sites and abusive acts of Israeli soldiers against Palestinian civilians for the month of June. The document marks the first in a planned series of reports documenting Israeli violations in East Jerusalem.

Some of the central stories in the report include the detailed events around the killing of Amjad Abu Ikhdeir, resident of the north Jerusalem area of Shu’fat who was killed by Israeli extremists while on his way to work. The 30- year-old father of four was shot and killed by an Israeli settler near the New Gate entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem. Testimonies revealed the man was shot several times; once in the right eye, once I the forehead and half a dozen wounds were found in his back and abdomen.
