Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

IMEMC
A member of the Public Committee Against Torture in Israel (PCATI) told the special UN committee, probing the war on Gaza, that Israeli soldiers held detainees from Gaza without providing them water, food or even restrooms, and that the detainees were subjected to violence and torture by Shin Bet interrogators.

...Israeli soldiers subjected Palestinian prisoners of war to violent interrogation methods, and constant threats...

He said that the army held the prisoners of war in ditches soldiers prepared in advance, and that 50 to 70 detainees would be forced into ditches that are two to three meters (6.5 to 10 feet) deep and nearly 50 meters (164 feet) wide.

Representatives of the PCATI stated that the detainees were held while blindfolded and handcuffed, and denied then access to food, water or restrooms.

Bader further said that torture methods included physical, verbal abuse and threatens to harm their families...

Also in direct violation to the International Law and the Fourth Geneva Conventions, the army prevented the detainees from meeting their lawyers, and deprived their families from visiting them due to the ongoing blockade on Gaza.
