Studies show that US coverage is Israeli-centric. The main bureaus for CNN, Associated Press, Time, etc. are located in Israel and often staffed by Israelis. The son of the NY Times bureau chief is in the Israeli army;"pundit" Jeffrey Goldberg served in the IDF; Wolf Blitzer worked for AIPAC. Because the U.S. gives Israel over $8 million/day - more than to any other nation - we feel it is essential that we be fully informed on this region. Below are news reports to augment mainstream coverage.

Israeli forces detain 5 in Jenin area of Palesrine

Ma'an -- Israeli forces detained four Palestinians in Arraba village and one in Illar early Thursday.

Palestinian security officials told Ma'an Malik Abu Salah, Jawaad Abu A’baid, Yusuf A’rda, and Jihad A’rda were taken from Arraba, southwest of Jenin, in the raid.

Israeli forces issued detention notices for four others, officials said, naming them as Qasam A’rda, Fadi A’rda, Yusuf Abu Jalbush, and Abid An-Nasir Zuhair.

In May and June, Islamic Jihad leaders in Arraba were targeted in a series of Israeli raids.

An unnamed individual was also detained early Thursday from nearby village Illar, in the Tulkarem governorate.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said "there were four arrests and four warrants in Arraba, and an arrest in Illar."

"These people were taken for security questioning."
