Bil'in protesters remind soldiers of ICJ decision; teargassed

Two were taken by Israeli soldiers and dozens suffered tear gas inhalation at the non-violent protest Friday in Bil’in village north of Ramallah...

Israeli troops stationed at the gate fired a barrage of sound bombs, tear gas and rubber-coated bullets at the group following their request. The soldiers also used what the villagers call the "bad smell" water, chemically treated with sulphurs and other noxious smells. The water, sprayed on the group, caused many to vomit, including leader of the Palestinian National Initiative party and Member of the Palestinian Legislative Council Mustafa Barghouthi.

Protesters reminded soldiers of the decision made by the International Court of Justice five years ago, declaring the separation wall illegal, and demanding it be dismantled.

Last week Israeli troops took eight villagers and an international supporter during invasions into the area in attempts to dissuade the residents from continuing the weekly demonstrations.
